A Jolt Of A Different Color

Hello again old friend.
Either you love it or you hate it, but the Jolt seems to be here stay. With more variations than probably any other Nerf blaster in recent history, there's a little somethin' for everyone. It's no stranger to makeovers, re-shells, or re-release, and the Zombie Strike line is no different. So lets jump right into the Zombiestrike Target Set.

New Jolt and Stryfe in the Bay Area

Jolt photo taken at Best Buy in Santa Clara
Both the "Elite" Jolt and the Stryfe have been spotted in the Bay Area. The Jolt was seen at Best Buy in Sunnyvale. A Toy's "R" Us in San Jose has been reported to have the Stryfe.  The Jolt at Best Buy is retailing for $4.99, while the Stryfe at Toys "R" Us is going for $24.99, more expensive than either Amazon or Walmart.

While the Jolt has a new paint job, and the nose has been changed a little, it does not actually mention the Elite line anywhere on it or the packaging. Looks like Nerf may still be reserving that for blasters that hit certain ranges.

Special thanks to Amy, who dropped the news and snapped us a picture of the Jolt at Best Buy.

Nerf Elite "Jolt"

Nerf Elite Jolt? As seen on
back of Elite Nerf Vest box.
Nerf hasn't officially announced a retooled version of the Jolt for the Elite line yet, and much speculation has gone around online after images of the blaster surfaced in box art and promotional pictures. More recently a Jolt with an elite color scheme can seen on the back of the box of the Elite Nerf Vest.

However, apparently this may not be the final product. A video has surfaced online showing a fully functional version of the Nerf Triad EX-3.  Externally, and in operation this blaster is vary similar to the Jolt, but seems to be intended to blast three darts. Also, this seems to use an elite version of "whistler" darts. The video is in Chinese, but the fully functional blaster can be seen demonstrating each barrel working, and not just there for dart storage! However, the video does not show all three darts firing simultaneously, leaving many questions unanswered. Is this an elite version of the Jolt, or a completely new blaster?
